Presenting...Fiery Chikorita!

This is my entry to 's Pokemon Contest, where the objective is to make up a new glitch or a glitch Pokemon in one of the existing games.

This (imaginary) glitch exists in the Gold and Silver versions of Pokemon on the Game Boy Color.

How to get this Pokemon:

1. Trade with a friend via the Game Link a Chikorita with a Cyndaquil. The most difficult part is to turn off the power on both Game Boys at the sime time right before the message 'Trade Successful' or a similiar statement appears on your screens. To practice the timing of this, try trading some other Pokemon before attempting this glitch to get a hang of when exactly you should turn off the power before it says 'Trade Successful'.

2. When you open your Game Boy once more, you'll find that the trade was actually saved to the file, but Chikorita becomes a messy blob of pixels, like the glitch Pokemon Misingno.

3. Take that Chikorita to the Daycare, and leave it with either a male Cyndaquil or Charmander (NOTE: Only one of these 2 starter fire Pokemon will produce the desired glitch. Using any other fire Pokemon like Magmar or Growlithe for example won't work!)
In normal game circumstances, this pairing can never work, but since Chikorita has been altered a bit by the 'incomplete trade', it becomes possible.

4. Come back later, and the old lady at the Daycare will give you the egg laid. Keep it with you like you keep the Togepi egg and wait for it to hatch.

5. Oh, my God! A Chikorita comes out, but it's RED! Oddly enough, it learns the grass-type moves a normal Chikorita does, but after exceeding level 50, it starts learning Ember, Fire Wheel and Flamethrower. It doesn't seem cabable of evolving.
